WITCHBLOOD

Does she love the partial light,

the shifty mirror,

the sheen?

Are her fingers,

baffled opposed the white sky,

rune-like?

Is she always listening for

carillon and

sighs,

rustling footpath

on the leaves?

Does autumn move her,

fire and gloom,

a winter white lover

holding secrets

under the black soil?

*

Fashionable the low spot tree

she stands.

Clue trickling

sap-like

down the imagination

is not far-flung

from innovation

but is in all threads

that terrazzo

the earth.
